My name is Mateen Manek and I’m the founder and creative director of studio rooh.

In a nutshell, studio rooh is a creative production company that creates original work, scripted advertisements, branded documentaries and everything in between.

That seems like a lot of different things, but what brings them together is our passion for storytelling. When we started (and back then we were called The Curious Society), we wanted to make films that told powerful stories about people. Whether it be sports, wedding documentaries or our commercial work, we always focused on the people behind it all. That’s why we value authenticity over everything else.

‘rooh’ comes from the Arabic word meaning soul, because we try to capture the soul of the story more than anything else, and that’s why we value telling stories with emotional depth and authenticity. Our goal is to create projects that celebrate the human spirit, elevate social consciousness and encourage a deeper understanding of the world.
