When everyone else closed their doors, they kept theirs open.
Everyone has a pandemic story - but one story that wasn’t being told was of a specific group of frontline workers - pharmacists.
Pharmacies were not only open but were also the first line of defence for many patients. Some of them stepped up and delivered medicine, others organized COVID-19 shots in accessible places, and some even delivered milk and bread to those who needed it.
This story felt hopeful to us - that during a difficult time, there were people who were still there willing to take care of those who couldn’t. We wanted to showcase these heroes and let their story be heard.
We approached our filming in a gentle and soft way, using diffusion filters to create a soft glow. Given the limitations of the pandemic, we had to be creative with the shots we could capture. All in all, we wanted to focus on the story - that there were a group of people who, in a time when it was easy to be afraid, decided to help.
