When the pandemic hit, many businesses and organizations were changed drastically and some had to close their doors.
This story is about an organization that embraced the change so that they could continue helping people.
Initially, we wanted to do a documentary on HumanKind Toronto because of their amazing work they do with local women’s shelters. However, the documentary started in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic and it was hard to avoid the subject.
It was amazing to see how they were able to pivot and embrace a whole new system of doing things as they relied on in-person programming a lot. The documentary itself took a year to film, and we got lucky enough to end it on their first in-person fundraiser for their program.
