What You Need to Have an Effective Instagram Page for Your Business
Instagram is a really effective way to reach new audiences and have new people discover your brand. I primarily post on Instagram because I’ve already spent so much time building my audience, but it’s also one of my favourite social platforms out there.
But there’s one thing I know many business owners get wrong when it comes to Instagram.
And that is follower count.
How many followers do you have? For some reason, people equate this number with success, and I’m here to tell you that’s far from the truth.
Because, put simply, the number of followers you have doesn’t matter as much as the quality of those followers.
Think about it this way - let’s say you had 100 followers. But those followers don’t like your posts. They don’t share your content. They don’t comment, and if they do, it’s random and has nothing to do with your product.
Now let’s change the scenario - imagine you had only 3 followers, but they love your content, they comment with their feedback on your product, they engage with you and they share your content with their network.
Which audience would you prefer? If you’re like me, you’ll go with the second option, because you know those 3 people will help you grow beyond your current audience.
Building an audience does take a lot of work. It requires a lot of engagement and relationship-building on your end. But it pays off. You’ll find people who love your work and want to share your work with others. And, at the end of the day, word of mouth is the most effective form of marketing.
